WESTJET ANNOUNCES NEW EVP AND CIO

12 APR 2017: WestJet has announced the appointment of Craig Maccubbin to executive vice-president and chief information officer (CIO). “Craig’s range of experiences, expertise and background in low-cost airlines, IT and human resources makes him the perfect fit as we tackle an ongoing technology transformation at WestJet,” said Gregg Saretsky, WestJet president and CEO.

“For more than 20 years WestJet has been an industry leader in innovation and guest experience. As we continue our global growth, Craig’s appointment reaffirms our commitment to providing the best technology solutions for our 22 million guests and more than 12,000 WestJetters. We look forward to having Craig on board.”

Maccubbin joins WestJet from Southwest Airlines, where he was most recently the chief technology officer. In this role, he was responsible for leading Technology Operations, including all infrastructure and mobile platforms for the airline, while leading a team of 500 employees. During his 25-year career, Maccubbin has held a number of leadership positions, including chief information officer for organizations such as Spirit Airlines, LasVegas.com and Black Entertainment Television.

Maccubbin will join WestJet in Calgary effective April 24, pending immigration approval.
