It may be designed for the US, but all Aussiephiles everywhere, including Canadians, are invited to tune into this year’s “G’Day USA AAA Arts Gala,” which, in past years has featured star-studded appearances by Australia’s advocates including Naomi Watts, George Clooney, and Nicole Kidman.

Taking place on February 25, this year’s honourees include Cate Blanchett, Liane Moriarty, and Aaron Pederson, and the event will feature a number of high-profile performances, presenters, virtual red-carpet, and be broadcast across the United States and Australia.

And due to the pandemic, the event will be streamed virtually, with viewers automatically entered for a chance to win a guitar signed by country music star Keith Urban.

“For the first time, this event will not be limited by venue capacity and aims to welcome all those around the world who have been unable to attend in person in the past,” say organizers.

Presented by G’Day USA, which for 18 years has been facilitating events across the US in a number of different disciplines, and the American Australian Association, and sponsored by the likes of Tourism Australia and Qantas, the event celebrates “the diverse contributions made by Australians in advancing and strengthening the friendship” between the two countries and, at the same time, helps raise funds for the AAA Arts Fund.

The event begins at 7 p.m. EST, and registration can be found HERE.

Performers include Guy Sebastian, Delta Goodram, Colin Hay
