THE ROAD TO SWITZERLAND:Trade event times two in Canada

Switzerland is synonymous with clocks and time so it’s no surprise that the country’s tourist board is hosting a live online roadshow in Canada on both Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 16-17) – a single event set to take place twice specifically to accommodate participants in different time zones on both sides of the country.

The “Road-to-Switzerland” show – Monday timed for easterners, Tuesday in the West – will allow North American tour operators and travel agents to journey through Switzerland from home and receive information and tools to better recommend and sell the country.

The tourist board says it is eager to strengthen its relationship with trade partners, whose support they say will play an even more important role once North Americans can travel again post-pandemic.

Citing a decade of growth from the North American market, Pascal Prinz, Director Canada for Switzerland Tourism, says, “The love of Canadians for Switzerland will not stop during these unprecedented times. We look forward to reconnecting with our valued partners across Canada. Seize this opportunity and get the latest news from Switzerland to be ready for when travel rebounds.”

Led by Paolo Lunardi, Trade Manager North America, 29 Swiss partners from Aletsch Arena to Zurich will present their latest product offerings to the trade in one-to-one appointments.

Show details are as follows (times in both EST and PST on Monday and Tuesday respectively):

• 9:00 a.m. – Opening session by Claudio Zemp, Director Switzerland Tourism Americas
• (9:20 a.m. EST only – Welcome in French by Pascal Prinz)
• 9:30 a.m.-2:15 p.m. – Swiss partners one-on-one interview slots
• 2:15-30 p.m. – Closing remarks by Claudio Zemp
