From castles and palaces to country manors, the UK has plenty of famous homes that people love to visit and photograph. To find out Great Britain’s best loved homes, British insurance intermediary Compare the Market recently analyzed Instagram hashtag data to reveal which buildings were photographed the most.

Citing fantastic architecture and historic buildings that date back centuries as magnets for both tourists and day-tripping Brits, the company compiled state for 350 notable venues, ultimately creating a top 50 list that counts down from Lumley Castle in Chester-le-Street (8,742 hashtags) to the undisputed No. 1: Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of Queen Elizabeth and arguably the most famous home in the UK, which racked up 1,245,968 posts.

Following the palace and only half as hashtagged is The Tower of London (582,121), Kensington Palace (360,159), Windsor Castle (344,279) and Hampton Court Palace (144,561).

The remainder of the top 10: Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle, Chatsworth House, St. Michael’s Mount, and Leeds Castle.

Notably the top three and four of the top five are located in London.

Compare the Market notes that castles and homes that are in a state of ruins or derelict were not included, nor were buildings used for military purposes rather than as a home.
