COULD ALASKA’S CRUISE SEASON FALL VICTIM TO VIRUS AND RED TAPE?

After the entire Alaska cruising season was lost in 2020, could the 2021 Alaska cruising season also become a victim of COVID-19 and its aftermath? A lot needs to go right to make a reduced 2021 season happen, but there’s new optimism that cruising will return to “the great land.”

Seabourn Cruises is stepping up promotions of a revised season of 18 cruises on Seabourn Odyssey between May and September. Cruises have been shortened to seven days between Vancouver and Juneau, featuring rarely visited locales such as the Inian Islands and Alert Bay, a small First Nation village on Cormorant Island in the traditional Kwakwaka’wakw territory of British Columbia.
