STAR GAZING: Hollywood tour options with a twist

20 JUN 2018: Millennials and Gen Zer’s can now check out Hollywood celebrity culture on their own age-specific terms with a new tour from StarLine Tours in Los Angeles. In partnership with entertainment brand Young Hollywood, the two-hour tour of celeb hotspots in the US entertainment capital is geared specifically to a younger audience, with a custom 24-passenger bus that features state-of-the-art audio and video, including exclusive celebrity interviews.

Launching in July, the twice-daily tour is priced at US$55 for adults and $45 for children three to 11.

Other new options from Starline this summer include an exclusive La La Land tour, themed around the hit movie, personal meet-and-greet experiences with celebrities, plus the Instant Selfie Tour, which promises guests “fame and instant gratification, all in one hour.” Tour participants are whisked off for a photo op in front of the famous Hollywood sign, and then to Madam Tussauds wax museum on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for a frenzy of selfie opportunities with stars who are guaranteed to pose “without complaining.” Price of the tour is US $35 for adults, $30 for kids.

In business for over 80 years and originally conceived as a drive-by sightseeing tour of the homes of Hollywood celebrities, Starline has expanded over the years to offer a host of general and specialty tours in the L.A. area for all ages and budgets, as well as offering attraction and hop on and off bus options in the city.

“We’ve been in Hollywood forever, we know what people want to see,” assures Starline director of sales and marketing Klaus Ritter, who adds, “Our tours aren’t just sightseeing, but experiences. People don’t want to just see houses anymore.”
