PORTER WINGING IT TO YVR WITH NEW JET

Vancouver, Ottawa, and Montreal will be the first three destinations for Porter Airlines’ new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft flying out of Toronto Pearson International Airport in early 2023. The YVR flights will mark Porter’s first foray into Western Canada.

As for Ottawa and Montreal – the carrier’s first two destinations when it began flying in 2006 – passengers will have two Toronto gateways to choose from, with flights also continuing from the downtown Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ).

Embraer service on all routes from YYZ begins in February with multiple daily, non-stop flights, increasing over time for additional flexibility as follows:

• Toronto-Ottawa: Feb. 1, four times daily
• Toronto-Montreal: Feb. 1, four times daily as of Feb. 7
• Toronto-Vancouver: Feb. 7, three times daily as of March 21

Commensurate with the new service, Porter is introducing a new economy experience on the new aircraft that will include free WiFi and healthy meals on longer flights in addition to existing complimentary beer and wine and selection of premium snacks.

A collection of six fares are available including two new options specifically for the PorterReserve all-inclusive economy experience. These fares are currently available for purchase, with the associated in-flight amenities starting Feb. 1. This includes routes served by E195-E2 and Dash 8-400 aircraft.

Porter says its order for up to 100 E195-E2s means additional routes will be announced regularly. And Porter Escapes vacation packages will be available soon.
