Zachary Easterly, a chemical engineer was fired from his job after a liquor fuelled meltdown that necessitated a Philadelphia to-Los Angeles flight to land at Salt Lake City. He repeatedly shouted racist and homophobic epithets during the flight being caught on video yelling homophobic slurs among other profanities during the flight. Easterly admitted he was “a little intoxicated” and made sarcastic remarks that he must be racist because he is a “white male that picked a black bag.”
While flight attendants searched for his bag in the overhead compartments, Easterly continued his tirade and yelled that his carry-on was “a better bag than most of y’all can afford.”
With the backpack found, he headed for the exit, shouting that everyone on the plane was a “liberal f—-t” and expressed hope they “crash the f—ing plane.”
His atrocious behaviour was captured on video that has gone viral.
Before being escorted off the flight, Easterly declared that he is a chemical engineer who works for GlaxoSmithKline and boasted that his employer is “one of the best f—ing companies in the world.”
Inexplicably he then yelled, “I’m going to quit the f—ing job this week.” Turns out the option wasn’t his to make. The incident happened Tuesday and GlaxoSmithKline announced his termination just two days later.
The London-based multinational pharmaceutical corporation released a statement condemning his remarks as “reprehensible” and not reflecting the company’s culture.
“At GSK, diversity, equity and inclusion is embraced and celebrated and we are committed in policy, principle and practice to maintaining an environment which prohibits discriminatory behavior and provides equal opportunity for all persons.”
A subsequent video showed Easterly having left the plane describing himself as a “cool mother—er” and threatening to grab a pistol and shoot black workers whom he repeatedly calls the N word.
As he is escorted through the terminal, Easterly brags again that he is a chemical engineer and tells a black manager escorting him through the terminal that he has “10 times your IQ.”
As a bystander overhearing his remarks warns him to watch his mouth, Easterly’s stops and warns, “I’ll pull my pistol, I’ll kill your f—ing family!”
One can only hope that the punishment will serve to keep “the chemical engineer” grounded for a good long time and be sufficient to deter any such behaviour from similar deplorables.
