LADY IN WAITING: Virgin’s second ship set to launch

Virgin Voyages’ second ship (of four), Valiant Lady, will launch in March before heading to homeport Barcelona, Spain, in May for its inaugural summer season. The debut follows the successful launch of the first vessel in the fleet, Scarlett Lady, last October.

Following in the wake of the awarding-winning Scarlett Lady (and ahead of the third ship, Resilient Lady), Valiant Lady will sail curated itineraries, mainly in the Western Med, featuring longer port stays and overnighters in some of Europe’s most sought-after islands and lively cities, including Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza, on 11- and 12-night voyages. In the fall, she will transition to the Caribbean.

“Adult by design” (meant for travellers 18-plus), the ship will boast 1,330 cabins and 78 “RockStar Quarters,” plus two “Massive Suites,” which boast their own turntables and private hot tub.

With 86% of cabins offering a balcony and 93% with ocean views, the cabins are feature an elevated design meant to bring a warmer energy and more sophisticated feel. They also offer increased drawers and storage space to suit longer itineraries.

The brand’s newest vessel also boasts first-class entertainment, state-of-the-art health and wellness facilities, and dining experiences curated by Michelin-starred chefs.

All Virgin Voyages ships have the strict health and safety protocols in place, from pre-boarding testing, vaccine requirements, special air filtration, reduced capacity, and rigorous cleaning.

For a limited time, guests can book any voyage on any ship and get 20% off along with a $100 toward their prepaid Bar Tab, plus an extra 10% off if they pay in full.
