GETTING SOCIAL WITH SANDALS

20 AUG 2019: It was a busy time for the Sandals staff and crew in Toronto last week as they played host to travel partners and media on several successive nights aboard the Lady Sandals. I was on board Wednesday, the weather cooperated (the traffic didn’t) but I made it in time and was warmly welcomed on board with minutes to spare.

As we set off for our cruise around Toronto Harbour, Sandals BDM, Michelle Lanoue, and CJ Smith senior regional sales director, reminded the agents aboard of all the opportunities available to them from consumer events, to incentives to Fam trips to webinars (especially wedding webinars) and reminded them to register their bookings.

‘Let’s get social,’ said Smith telling agents that to ‘change it up’ could produce results – “a new mindset leads to new results.”

Lanoue told us that Sandals’ success is due in large part to the support the company provides agents and of course to the end product the customers receive when they go to a Sandals resort.

After an excellent dinner as we sailed back to the city, Captain Michael Harris told us the Lady Sandals will move on to Kingston, Ontario, and then Montreal, Quebec City and Halifax where they will host similar events. Then it’s back into the US along the New England coast.

It’s worth noting that while Sandals is well known for its reputation for outstanding service at its resorts, the crew on the Lady Sandals were exemplary. Not only were they efficient and professional, they were friendly, charming and funny – making a delightful evening even more so.
