GERMANY’S MAGICAL CHRISTMAS MARKETS:

Germany’s Christmas markets are a highlight for young and old alike. An invitation to take an atmospheric stroll through the alleys with festively decorated stalls, while snacking on gingerbread, candy apples, Christmas stollen and hot chestnuts. Wooden carvings from the Erzgebirge, artistic glass baubles or unique handmade items make delightful Christmas decorations or sustainable Christmas gifts. Many of the markets throughout Germany now use energy-saving lighting concepts with LED lamps and place particular emphasis on regional and organically produced products and food. Environmentally friendly and stress-free, the markets are easy to reach by public transport.

Even beyond the Christmas villages, the whole country seems to be transformed into a magical land in the festive season. People come together and sing traditional songs, drink toddies by flickering candlelight and decorate their homes with colourful baubles and fairy lights.
