DOUBLE THE FUN: Cuba Tourist Board to host two October FAMs

The Cuba Tourist Board in Canada is offering travel advisors the opportunity to take part in two special FAM group trips to the destination that will take place in October.

Both itineraries, including departures from Toronto, will take place Oct. 17-24 and will cover different parts of the country. They are:

FAM #1: Hidden Gems of Eastern Cuba, including: Holguin, Bayamo, Santiago de Cuba and Baracoa

On this itinerary, travel agents can learn more about these off the beaten path cities and be able to offer new alternatives for their clients, especially to those Canadians that have “been there, done that” and are seeking new experiences and new adventures.

Highlights of the program include visits to World Heritage sites; immerse in Cuba’s history and rich culture; and partake in adventures at “La Gran Piedra” National Park, the Yumuri River, and tour of Baracoa, the oldest colonial city in Cuba.

FAM #2: Explore the stunning new destinations of Paredon Grande & Cayo Cruz, combined with the colonial beauty of Trinidad

This group will discover recently opened islands and modern infrastructure of Cayo Paredon Grande and Cayo Cruz; visit the charming town of Trinidad with its cobblestone streets and its grand colonial buildings; and participate at “Destinos Gaviota” a fun-filled conference organized by Gaviota Group, designed to welcome tour operators and retailers to showcase Gaviotas hotel group products.

Highlights of the program include a chance to explore the two islands with scenic ocean views and pristine beaches; take a catamaran cruise to Media Luna Key; and visit Trinidad and “The Valley of Sugar Mills” (both World Heritage Sites), as well as take part in activities featured in “Destinos Gaviota” program.

To qualify for the limited-space FAM trips, travel advisors must be TICO registered and actively sell Cuba. For more details and to register, email nieves@gocuba.ca by Sept. 25.
