DON’T COUNT THE ALASKA CRUISE SEASON OVER JUST YET

After the entire Alaska cruising season was lost in 2020, it’s looking as though the 2021 Alaska cruising season is also destined to fall victim of COVID-19 and its aftermath. But some small American ships beg to differ.

With Canada announcing that cruise ships carrying more than 100 passengers will not be allowed to sail in the Arctic or visit Canadian ports until at least early 2022, most cruise lines are facing the possibility that not only Alaska but also east coast Canada cruises can’t happen this year.

That’s a dramatic change from the January Wave Season when lines were confident that “The Great Land” was going to be an important part of the reset of cruising and they were promoting east coast fall color cruises to Canada.
