CLINICALLY SPEAKING: Airbus vaccine hub approved for Mirabel

The government of Quebec has given Airbus Canada the go-ahead to create a vaccination hub on its premises at Mirabel Airport in Montreal. The facility is expected to operate for about 90 days beginning at the end of May and serve over 20,000 people.

Airbus has teamed up with more than 10 local companies, including YMX Aérocité internationale de Mirabel, to organize The Airbus & partenaires@Mirabel vaccination hub, which will cater to workers, their families, and the local population.

Airbus says the coalition’s efforts will allow Airbus Canada and its partners to contribute to meeting the government’s goal of vaccinating Quebecers.

“We have heard the clear message from the Premier of Quebec, François Legault, and the Health Minister, Christian Dubé. We wanted to offer a site that can bring several local companies together to support the vaccination effort in the province,” said Airbus Canada CEO Philippe Balducchi. “It is by joining forces that we will together win the fight against COVID-19″.

Active in several regions of Canada, Airbus has nearly 3,800 employees in Canada and more than 22,000 indirect jobs in the aeronautics sector are supported through various collaborations.
