BRANSON OPPOSES TRAVEL BAN

31 JAN 2017: The founder of the Virgin empire Sir Richard Branson has registered his opposition to Donald Trump’s travel ban in a blog post, promising to donate to the American Civil Liberties Union and the International Rescue Committee and urging the public to donate to worthy causes.

Branson said in his post Monday there were many reasons to be worried about the travel ban, which bars people from seven countries in the Middle East and Africa from entering the US and suspends refugee immigration for 120 days.

Branson says he applauds “the thousands who have taken to the streets and the airwaves in solidarity across the US” and others donating their time “on behalf of those caught up in this mess.”

Virgin did not immediately disclose the size of the donation.
