The only thing more certain than absence to make the heart grow fonder is enforced absence. With this in mind, Travel Industry Today has asked readers to reveal their bucket list, or all-time favourite, destinations that are lingering in their minds while waiting for the world to welcome travellers again. Gal Hana, the new Toronto-based director for Canada for the Israel Ministry of Tourism, is dreaming of continuing to explore Canada.
I arrived in Canada with my family last August and since our arrival we’ve travelled to get to know Canada and Ontario – from the north to east and west. I’m sure that every weekend one could spot us in a different location – as we are a family of six with four young children. We are pretty noisy to be missed.
When this is over, we want to continue our exploration of Canada. We can’t wait for this to be over as we had so many places to go. We were supposed to visit Montreal and Quebec in April, go to Vancouver in the summer, and keep exploring Ontario during the fall. We are here for a limited time and we have so many places to go, so we can’t miss a second of it.
We love the outdoors and nature and in Canada – everywhere you look there is a potential Instagram photo as everything is beautiful: waterfalls, parks, hiking and biking trails. All wonderful! We already have plans to bike in Mont Tremblant, to ski in Whistler, and swim in some of the numerous lakes across Canada.
The vast array of landscapes, mixture of cultures, tons of experience opportunities, changing of the seasons, and more than anything, the great hospitality of Canadians, makes Canada our bucket list destination.
Just before the outbreak, my wife and I saw “Come From Away” and the amazing production made us realize that we also need to go to Newfoundland to experience the country landscapes and green meadows, have the opportunity to watch whales and icebergs, and just enjoy the vibe at a local bar on the porch.
We are happy and grateful to be fortunate enough to have the chance to live in our bucket list destination and we can’t wait to continue our journey.
