WestJet passengers now have more access to a variety of European destinations with the placement of the airline’s “WS” code on KLM-operated flights as part of the Calgary-based carrier’s long-standing codeshare relationship with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
The codeshare arrangement enables WestJet passengers to travel seamlessly via Schiphol Airport (AMS) to close to two dozen cities across the continent, including Vienna, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Athens, Milan, Lisbon, Glasgow, and Manchester.
Combined with the restart of WestJet’s three-times weekly non-stop 787 Dreamliner service between Amsterdam and Calgary on Nov. 14, the codeshare service will provide “more opportunities to travel between Europe and Canada,” says John Weatherill, WestJet Chief Commercial Officer.
Guests using the codeshare will gain a host of benefits, including optimized AMS connections, through check in for all flights at their first departure, baggage checked through to their final destination, and the ability to earn and use WestJet Rewards dollars on all flights.
