Nassau’s mega Baha Mar resort – home to Grand Hyatt, SLS and Rosewood hotels – has opened its much-anticipated water park, featuring water attractions, luxury cabanas, multiple F&B outlets, an exclusive gaming pavilion, and more.
Dubbed Baha Bay, the US$200-million luxury water park marks the completion of the next phase of development and a significant investment in the ongoing evolution of Baha Mar, which opened its doors four years ago, after years of stop-and-start development.
The resort complex, which notably hosted the annual Caribbean Travel Marketplace showcase – one of the last major travel trade events before the pandemic in 2019 – notes that, with the waterpark, it now employees over 3,500 Bahamians.
“The arrival of Baha Bay marks an important milestone in the strategic growth and development of Baha Mar resort destination,” said Baha Mar president Graeme Mar at the weekend grand opening. “The newest development upholds Baha Mar’s endeavor to redefine the ultimate Caribbean vacation and continuously elevate and evolve the luxury of choice experience.”
Exclusive to Baha Mar guests, Baha Bay, set on six hectares along Cable Beach, introduces beachfront aquatic adventures and an abundance of attractions, including thrilling water slides, dueling water coaster, group raft rides, wave pool, action river winding through lush tropical landscape, first of its kind Surf Simulator, kids splash zones, and more.
The venue also offers an expansive selection of al fresco dining, including The Market, home to Cleo Grill, Sam’s Crispy Chicken, Plant Nation and Chill. Additional individual restaurants include the famed Sugar Factory, Umami Burger, and Barracuda food trucks.
Baha Bay features also include the only casino gaming pavilion inside a waterpark as well as the luxury Baha Bay Beach Club, the latter complete with 15 full-service private cabanas, daybeds, breathtaking infinity pools and poolside lounge areas designed for “optimal seclusion and relaxation.”
