01 FEB 2017: Diane Alexander has accepted the role of president of SITE Canada for 2017. She previously held the position of SITE Canada’s vice president education and assumed the role of president-elect at the beginning of this year, with plans to become president in 2018. Following the unanticipated resignation of president Liz Akey, Alexander has now moved into the position of president early, a role she will uphold for the next two years.
“I would like to wish Liz all the best and thank her for her mentorship. Liz did an excellent job positioning the Board for another outstanding year in 2017 and I look forward to fulfilling her vision”, said Alexander.
“We have a fantastic Board of Directors this year who are focused and unified. We have a strong plan for another successful year for SITE Canada and I am excited and honoured to take on this new role.”
Alexander brings a decade of industry experience to the role of president, including significant volunteer experience with SITE Canada. In 2012, she joined the organization as a Young Leader, volunteering on the Young Leader, Communications and Golf committees. Since then, Alexander has held a number of positions within SITE Canada including Young Leaders committee chair, director Young Leaders and vice president Education.
