VIRGIN ATLANTIC ADDS TAMPA TO FLORIDA OPERATIONS

Heathrow and Tampa International

Virgin Atlantic is adding Tampa, Florida to its transatlantic operations. The new route will serve Tampa from London Heathrow, as of 03 November this year. Virgin Atlantic already offers up to four daily flights to Orlando and double daily flying to Miami.

The new year-round service to Tampa will initially fly four times a week before increasing to daily from 28 November.

Offering more than 190,000 seats each year, Virgin Atlantic will be the only airline to directly connect the Tampa Bay region with London’s hub airport.

Tampa has a catchment area of five million throughout the Tampa Bay and St Pete and Clearwater areas.

Virgin Atlantic Holidays will increase its Florida portfolio by offering a range of hotels and fly drive packages in the area.

Juha Jarvinen, Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Atlantic said, “We are delighted to continue our expansion in the US offering even more choice for customers on both sides of the Atlantic.”

“Florida is very much a firm favourite for our customers ever since our first flight to Miami back in 1986.”
