The river cruise ship Viking Kvasir collided with a barge on the Rhine river near Wesel, Germany. The accident occured in heavy fog during the river cruise ships’s Antwerpen to Amsterdam low country cruise. A couple of passengers and several crew reportedly sustained minor injuries.
Viking said there were no ‘significant injuries.’
There was damage to the front of the boat although no water was taken on.
Breakfast and lunch services were cancelled, but according to a passenger, morning excursions carried on and the ship was resupplied as scheduled.
“The ship was cleared by authorities and has now continued its voyage without further delay,” the line said.
