04 JUL 2018: Debuting this winter, Sunwing has announced two new direct flights to Los Cabos from both Ottawa and Kelowna. This is the first time these Canadian cities will have direct flights to this popular destination in Mexico. The direct flight service from YOW to Los Cabos departs every Thursday from December 20, until April 11, 2019, and the YLW direct flight service to Los Cabos departs Saturdays from December 15, to April 20, 2019.
A long time favourite of Canadians, Los Cabos has activities suitable for every taste. For the more adventurous traveller, popular options include snorkelling and scuba diving excursions in the Sea of Cortes or experiencing the unique landscape on an ATV. Those who prefer a more relaxing holiday can enjoy world-class golf courses, plentiful fishing and luxurious spas.
“We are delighted that Sunwing is providing Canadians with even more travel options to Los Cabos this winter,” said Rodrigo Esponda, managing director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board.
“Not only will vacationers have more access to our sunny destination, they will be able to take advantage of all that Los Cabos has to offer.”
Sunwing is one of Canada’s biggest travel providers to Los Cabos. With the addition of the new flight services from Ottawa and Kelowna, the travel company will offer direct access to Los Cabos from 11 airports coast to coast.
The direct flights begin just in time for the opening of some much-anticipated new developments in Los Cabos. In December 2018, Riu Palace Baja California, an adult only resort, is scheduled to open. The Ritz Carlton Reserve is slated to open in March 2019 – an elegant resort that will have 115 suites and villas across the natural slopes creating the ultimate desert luxury. Finally, April 2019 will see the launch of Nobu Los Cabos, a Japanese-inspired design that plans to use natural materials to emphasize both the design and the beach.
