Just when it seemed cruising was starting to get more predictable, cruise lines have once again tightened the testing rules for getting on ships. A new two-day testing deadline means Canadians may need to have two sets of negative COVID tests, one to fly to a cruise and another to get on board.
While the testing is preventing outbreaks at sea, the changing rules are confusing even for good friend Gene Sloan, a cruise writer for thepointsguy.com who has been practically living at sea for 25 years. He’s never seen anything as difficult as keeping up with the rules for getting on cruise ships these days.
“The hardest part of #cruising these days is the getting there. I’ve almost missed two cruises already due to the pre-#cruise #Covid19 testing scramble,” he said in an exasperated @cruiselog Tweet.
