Familiar face Richard Todd has returned to Sandals and Beaches Resorts in Canada in the newly created role of Senior Sales Consultant. The appointment takes effect immediately, says Maureen Barnes-Smith, VP Sales and Marketing Canada, Unique Vacations Canada.

Barnes Smith said, “To have someone of Richard’s high calibre, both professionally and personally, join my sales team at this time, during the era of Sandals 2.0, is exhilarating. His vast experience and strong skill set is perhaps only matched by his passion for the Sandals brand and his deep connections to the Canadian market.

“I know that travel advisors will be equally, if not more so, excited to have him back at Unique Vacations Canada and will join me in saying ‘welcome home Richard,’” she adds.

No stranger to the Canadian travel industry, Todd originally spent several years as part of the Unique Vacations Canada sales team between 1999 and 2005. He was then promoted and moved to the US, where he held a number of positions including National Training Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing, West Coast region before leaving the company in 2017 to pursue other endeavours.

Todd first joined the Sandals family in 1991, working in various on-resort roles at several properties in Jamaica prior to receiving a promotion to work out of the Sandals Resorts International corporate office in Montego Bay, before eventually emigrating to Canada in 1999.

In his new position as Senior Sales Consultant, Todd will serve as a high-level resource to both Barnes-Smith and Director of Sales C.J. Smith on overall sales strategy and execution for the Canadian market.

Working remotely from his home base in London, Ont., he will also service and support travel advisors in the Southwestern Ontario region – one that he cultivated during his first tenure with the company – to help grow their Sandals and Beaches business.
