Peru’s tourist board is inviting Canadian travel advisors to attend a virtual international networking event this week to learn the latest about the South American nation as IT re-opens for tourism. “Peru Calling” takes place tomorrow and Thursday (Nov. 3-4) from noon to 4 p.m. (EDT) but will be available on-demand for 30 days after the live event.
PROMPERÚ says travel advisors will have a chance to learn about a “multicultural nation, filled with traditions, a unique gastronomy, and vast natural reserves” by participating in engaging breakout sessions.
The tourist board will be accompanied by 24 exhibitors representing tour operators, accommodations, airlines, river cruises, trains, and museums, through live chat and a limited number of travel advisors will be able to pre-schedule appointments with preferred suppliers.
Exhibitors will also share exclusive special offers and discounts and travel agents will have a chance at partners giveaways and to win $1,000 in Amazon gift cards.
María del Sol Velásquez, director of tourism promotion at PROMPERÚ, said: “After the success of the Peru Calling Virtual Xpo in 2020, we wanted to bring back this event to advisors in 2021 in a two-day event and adding additional features like one-to-one pre-scheduled meetings to help them connect with Peruvian suppliers.”
Peru re-opened its borders to international flights on Oct. 15.
