ONE VOICE: TIAC urges last push for federal support

With a date finally set for the federal budget (April 19), the Tourism Industry Association of Canada is urging all members of the travel and tourism industries in this country to make a last-gasp effort to call for government support for the sector by writing to your MP. TIAC has even created a link on TourismCounts.ca to do so.

With the input of many stakeholders, TIAC has created and presented a “2021 Tourism Recovery Plan” to the government which outlines recommendations to supporting business solvency, championing safety, and keeping Canada globally competitive.

TIAC executives, including new President and CEO Beth Potter have also been meeting with ministers and MPs across the country, participating in press conferences and interviews to elevate the need for continued industry support and solutions.

But with the budget now imminent TIAC VP Jennifer Taylor says, “Now is the time when we all need to come together with one voice under TIAC. If you haven’t already done so, please visit (the web site) and send your letter to your Member of Parliament (MP) then share it on your social networks and encourage your colleagues and acquaintances to do the same.”

The countdown, Taylor says, is on.
