New York governor Andrew Cuomo has said that starting December 23, British Airways has agreed to make passengers on its flights to the Big Apple show a negative Covid test before departure.
Cuomo said in a tweet, “We are in conversations with Delta and Virgin Atlantic to do the same. We can’t let history repeat itself with this new virus variant.“
The New York governor’s intervention came as more than 40 countries issued suspensions of flights from the UK, bans on entry from anyone arriving from the UK or very strict quarantine or testing regulations.
