A man who tried to enter a Disney theme park in Orlando on Sunday was discovered to have a loaded pistol in his backpack. Nathan Polit, from Boynton Beach did not have a concealed carry permit, nor did he remember it was in his possession, having forgotten that he moved it from his car to his backpack earlier.
Police confirmed they were led to believe Polit did not intend to declare that he had a firearm because he joined the “no bag line” at security and would have entered the park (Animal Kingdom) carrying the 9mm Smith and Wesson.
He has been charged with a third-degree felony for carrying a concealed firearm.
Disney states on their website that “Firearms, ammunition, knives and weapons of any kind” are prohibited on all Walt Disney Resort properties.
