Ian Gooding-Edghill has been installed as the new minister of tourism and international transport in Barbados. The former health and wellness minister replaces Senator Lisa Cummins in a government cabinet shuffle.
Gooding-Edghill takes the reigns of the island’s bread-and-butter industry, effective today (Wednesday).
Prime Minister Mia Mottley made the announcement during an address at the Barbados Labour Party’s (BLP) 83rd annual conference over the weekend.
Cummins is now responsible for energy and business development, with an emphasis on international business and trade.
Minister Gooding-Edghill is a former human resources director with Elegant Hotels Group.
