Like the Rockin’ 1000 a few weeks ago, 40 Fingers also hails from Italy, and similarly produces cover versions of popular songs. But that’s where the similarity ends – the group is only four guys with four acoustic guitars (and 28 strings) vs a thousand musicians playing the drums and electric guitars and singing. No words here.
The uniqueness of 40 Fingers – Matteo Brenci, Emanuele Grafitti, Enrico Maria Milanesi and Andrea Vittori – is their unique and varied repertoire, ranging from Beethoven to Vivaldi and ABBA to Van Halen. And I repeat, all only on guitar. There are also film scores and medleys, plucking the likes of Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Last of the Mohicans, even Disney. There is literally something for every taste (unless you don’t like guitars).
We’ll start with “Fur Elise,” an amazing flamenco treatment of the Beethoven classic. But don’t worry, if Bohemian Rhapsody or Mama Mia is more to your taste, we will certainly visit these compagni again.
