GOWAY ON THE GROUND IN JAPAN

With Japan re-opening to international tourism, Goway says it is preparing to meet an influx of demand to the Asian nation with a host of renewed travel packages. The Toronto-based tour operator also sent a team member to check out the country in person.

Goway’s head of content and communication Aren Bergstrom spent six days in Japan in mid October during which he visited Tokyo, Shikoku, and the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, as well as pedalling the Shimanami Kaido cycling route along Japan’s famed suspension bridge system.

“It was a delight to return to Japan and experience a taste of its wonders, which have been sorely missed throughout the pandemic,” he reported. “Japan is capable of satisfying so many diverse traveller interests. Whether you’re looking to sample cutting edge haute cuisine, enjoy a restful stay amidst peaceful natural surroundings, or experience the excitement of some of the world’s biggest cities, you’ll find so much to fascinate you within its borders.”

Goway’s refreshed travel packages – over 20 – present a renewed focus on exclusive traveller experiences that highlight the nation’s traditions, culture, and natural landscapes.

Sample packages include the 10-day “Japan Zen & Wellness” and 11-day “Japan for Families” itineraries.

Goway has also launched additional luxury tours throughout the nation, including the 15-day “Ultimate Japan,” which includes deluxe hotels, ryokan (hot spring) stays, and private-guided experiences in Tokyo, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Osaka.

“We’re thrilled that Japan has fully reopened and to once again help our Globetrotters experience its cultural delights and natural wonders for themselves,” says Brittany Banks, Product Manager for Asia. “Japan is at the core of our travel products to Asia, and we expect it to be one of our most popular destinations in 2023 and beyond.”

Goway will be showcasing its wide variety of Japanese travel product, including combination stays with South Korea, at the Rediscover Japan Virtual 3D Travel Show being organized by the Japan National Tourism Organization on Nov. 24.
