GOOD TO GOWAY: New Zealand announces reopening

Auckland Airport

New Zealand has announced that it is reopening its borders to travellers from visa waiver countries (including the United States and Canada) and dropping its self-isolation requirements for these travellers on Monday, May 2 – and as of that day South Pacific travel experts – Goway is ready to help travellers explore New Zealand.

Starting May 2, fully-vaccinated travellers from countries that do not require a visa can enter New Zealand and avoid quarantine upon arrival. Prior to arrival, travellers must complete a traveller declaration and need to get a My Vaccine Pass for full access to a range of sites within New Zealand, including restaurants. Travellers are required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to departure and must also take rapid antigen tests on Day 1 and Day 5 or 6 and declare their results in New Zealand. You can find full details at New Zealand’s government website.

Goway remains North America’s leading travel provider for travel to Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. Destination Specialists at Goway help travellers plan their trip, navigate new travel requirements, and craft the vacation to New Zealand that they’ve been waiting to enjoy for over two years.

“The announcement of New Zealand’s reopening is wonderful news for all travellers, but especially for North Americans who appreciate the diversity, culture, natural scenery, and friendliness that New Zealand offers like few other countries,” says Anthony Saba, VP of Downunder and South Pacific at Goway.

“It has been a long road back to this point and the long layoff during the pandemic has only increased the desire of travellers to head on a trip of a lifetime at their earliest convenience. So, we expect Globetrotters to jump at the chance to explore the full range of destinations in the South Pacific, including New Zealand, and live out their travel dreams in this welcoming and beautiful nation.”
