GOOD DEEDS: TravelBrands donates $10,000 to Food Banks Canada

Determined to impact the hardships and food insecurity of many people this holiday season, TravelBrands has continued its ongoing partnership with Food Banks Canada for the fourth consecutive year with a $10,000 donation to the charity.

The Toronto-based tour company, which supports multiple charities, says it is committed to fostering “positive change and making a meaningful difference in the lives of Canadians” by elevating its corporate social responsibility initiatives by being actively part of the change. The organization has also pledged to participate in a food and fundraising drive as part of expanding their partnership with Food Banks Canada – an initiative it says will also allow employees to learn and have a positive impact on the community.

“We stand behind the impactful work of Food Banks Canada in supporting Canadians facing food insecurity. Their commitment to ensuring that those in need have access to meals is commendable,” says Nathalie Tanious, President & CEO, TravelBrands. “As we navigate this season, it is crucial that we unite to alleviate the weight on individuals and families most affected. We are confident that our joint effort will make a difference for those relying on additional support this year.”

“Food banks usage rose to its highest levels this year across Canada, with almost two million visits in one month alone,” says Claudia Galella, Director of Corporate Development and Partnerships at Food Banks Canada. “Food banks in every region of Canada are stretched to their limits with this rising demand, which is expected to remain high as more and more people count on food banks to help them cope with rising costs. Due to this heightened need, we are very grateful for our partnership with TravelBrands. This donation comes at an important time.”
