GLOBUS TO REQUIRE PRE-SCREENING PROOF FOR TRIP SAFETY

Starting in April when its tours are scheduled to resume, the Globus family of brands will require guests to produce one of three safe travel verifications before joining any Globus, Cosmos, Avalon Waterways, or Monograms tour. And the company will also arrange and pay for additional COVID-19 testing for guests to return to Canada, as well as tests during the trip if guests show symptoms.

However before starting a trip with any Globus brand, tour participants will upon arrival be required to provide one of the following printed and/or digital verifications:

• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination at least 14 days prior to travel
• Proof of a negative COVID-19 test (NAAT/PCR or antigen) result within 72-hours of travel, or
• Proof of recovery from a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis within three months of travel

Without one of these verifications, travellers will not be able to join a planned vacation with any of the brands.

“The health and safety of our travellers is our No. 1 priority,” says Stéphanie Bishop, managing director of the Globus family of brands (GFOB) in Canada. “In addition to unveiling new pre-trip requirements, we have continued to enhance on-trip safety standards throughout the pandemic to ensure we’re ready to welcome guests back to travel when the world is ready.”

In addition to unveiling new COVID-19 parameters required at the start of each vacation departure, GFOB announced that they will facilitate – and cover the cost of – additional COVID-19 testing, if required, for guests to return to their home country, as well as tests if guests show symptoms during one of its tours, river cruises or independent vacations.

And, to ease pre-trip stress, the company is also now offering guests more payment flexibility by shortening its the final payment window for all brands to 45 days, prior to departure.

“As our guests get closer to their departure date, we want to help them enjoy peace of mind about their vacation, knowing final payment is not due until 45 days before they’re scheduled to go,” says Bishop. “This change will give them more peace of mind.”

Early in the pandemic, the GFOB also unveiled a complimentary “Peace of Mind Travel Plan” that allows travellers who are unable to go on their vacation due to COVID-19 restrictions to change their plans without penalty to any other 2021 or 2022 date, destination, itinerary, or even another brand in the Globus travel portfolio.
