GET TALKING ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH

On Bell Let’s Talk Day – Thursday Jan. 28 – Canadians are invited to join in the global mental health conversation. Simply participating (through a wide range of communications platforms) will directly drive Bell’s donations to Canadian mental health programs.

The annual Let’s Talk Day, which was launched in 2011, sees Bell donate five cents to Canadian mental health programs for every applicable text, local or long distance call, tweet or TikTok video using #BellLetsTalk, plus Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter and YouTube views of the Bell Let’s Talk Day video, as well as every use of the Bell Let’s Talk Facebook frame or Snapchat filter.

There is no cost for participants beyond what they would normally pay their service provider for online or phone access.

Since the program was first launched in 2010 with a $50-million anchor donation by Bell, Canadians and people around the world have sent a total of more than 1.1 billion messages of support for mental health, bringing the total funding commitment to $113,415,135 (which includes an additional $5 million dedicated to COVID-19 response).

Believed to be the largest-ever corporate commitment to mental health in Canada, Bell Let’s Talk is focused on flour key action pillars: Anti-stigma, Care and Access, Research, and Workplace Leadership.

Since its launch, Bell has partnered with more than 1,100 organizations providing mental health supports and services throughout Canada, including hospitals, universities, local community service providers, and other care and research organizations.

In March 2020, Bell announced the extension of the program for another five years with a target of at least $155 million in corporate donations to Canadian mental health programs.
