EXECS INSIST IT’S SAFE TO RESTART CRUISING FROM NORTH AMERICA

 

The leaders of the big cruise lines have a message for officials who keep extending the ban on North American cruising: Enough is Enough. With lines losing millions of dollars a day in a shutdown that’s reached the six-month point, the CEOs called for a speedy, but careful, return to cruising during a meeting of the Miami-Dade County Tourism and the Florida Ports Committee. But with caseloads starting to creep up in the United States and Canada, is it going to happen?

At the moment, the industry’s Cruise Line International Association is setting Oct. 31 as the goal for a restart to cruising from US ports, which is in line with recommendations from the Centers for Disease control and the Canadian government.
