CRYSTAL CRUISES TO SAIL AGAIN: A&K Travel Group acquires Serenity and Symphony

Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio and Geoffrey Kent

A&K Travel Group Ltd confirmed it has acquired luxury cruise vessels Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony in the Bahamas. The two ships will resume service in 2023 after undergoing extensive refurbishment. The ships will operate under the Crystal Cruises brand again, which was also acquired by A&K Travel Group Ltd.

A&K is owned by Abercrombie and Kent CEO Geoffrey Kent, and Heritage Group, the holding company chaired by Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio the Monegasque billionaire businessman, and former owner of Silversea Cruises. In June 2018, he sold two-thirds of the company to Royal Caribbean for US$1 billion, retaining a one-third stake in the company.

“Selling the cruise business that belonged to my family for a quarter of a century was a difficult decision, as I knew I would miss this industry immensely,” Lefebvre d’Ovidio said.

“Therefore, when the opportunity arose to acquire Crystal Cruises, I did not think about it twice.

“I am thrilled to start this new chapter and to be back in an industry that has always had a special place in my heart,’ said Lefebvre d’Ovidio.

Crystal Cruises and Abercrombie & Kent will be under the responsibility of Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group Ltd.
