Bill Pallett had a long and productive career in travel and tourism. He was well known within the industry as a specialist in training, development and human resources. Bill began began his career at Wardair in the 70s moving later to Canadian Pacific (CP) Hotels.
In 1980, he moved to Vancouver, returning to Toronto four years later as director of executive development with Four Seasons.
In 1990 Bill joined Delta Hotels and Resorts for an illustrious 25 year career as senior vice president people resources.
When Marriott acquired Delta in 2015, he started his own consulting company – WJP and Associates.
Aside from his professional responsibilities Bill dedicated countless hours to several organizations including the Canadian Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, Mount Sinai Health System in Patient Care and Tourism HR Canada.
When it came to teaching, guiding and developing the skills one needed to succeed in the various facets of this industry Bill was brilliant. He touched, encouraged, supported, and mentored, many people throughout his life and career.
Bill was well known and respected within the industry. While his talents and professional expertise were indisputable, to know Bill at all was to like him. Once he was your friend, he stayed your friend. You may not have been in regular contact but he kept in touch and if you called on him he always responded.
Bill Pallet a stalwart of this industry, died Friday December 27th after a seven month battle with cancer.
We extend our condolences to Bill’s partner of 25 years, Charlie Corrado, and to Bill’s family and friends.
