BERMUDA TOURISM AUTHORITY APPOINTS TRACY BERKELEY AS NEW CEO

Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) has announced the appointment of Tracy Berkeley as CEO. Berkeley played an integral role in the development of the Tourism Recovery Strategy to the Island’s post-pandemic resilience, whilst simultaneously leading the Tourism Standards team and sitting on the Board of the Bermuda Visitor Service Centre; the Board of Polaris Holding Company Limited; as well as the Royal Bermuda Regiment Defence and Promotions Board.

Starting her career with BTA as Director of People in 2020, Berkeley implemented systems and processes to achieve corporate objectives and led workforce initiatives to create a sustainable tourism and hospitality talent pool for Bermuda. During this time, she was responsible for directing best practice in both HR management and operational efficiencies for the BTA offices in both Bermuda and New York, leading empowering initiatives such as the Forbes Under 30 Residency in Bermuda, designed to connect young entrepreneurs and innovators to collaborate, mentor and solve the world’s most pressing issues.

Following Berkley’s official appointment, Chairman Wayne Caines said, “We have a dynamic agenda of initiatives and a highly qualified executive leadership team to tell the story of our transformational growth for Bermuda that is critical at this moment in time. As the world emerges from a global pandemic, I am very excited about our future and what more is to come under the leadership of Tracy and her team.”

Berkeley said, “I am excited to work with such a talented and driven team to promote Bermuda as a world-class destination for travel and tourism investment and to re-shape the industry in which we work. I believe in the power of our local community to be a pillar in our ability to showcase the authenticity of the island and homegrown talent we have here. The culture of our local people is invaluable to the growth of tourism in Bermuda and our success in growing international tourism.”
