BC TOPS SUMMER TRAVEL POLL

British Columbia far surpasses every other Canadian province as the most popular for 2022 among clients of First in Service Travel LTD (F1S) – one of North America’s largest independent travel agencies – according to findings in a recent survey of F1S travel advisors.

The survey asked each F1S travel advisor to name the top three domestic destinations they were booking for 2022. A whopping 81.8% said BC was among their top three, with 45.5% specifying that Vancouver was their top destination, followed by Whistler with 27.3%.

Among other top provinces, Quebec and Alberta tied for second (36.4% each), followed by Ontario (27.3%).

“With everything from the sophistication of Vancouver to the glorious splendour of the Rockies, British Columbia has it all,” said F1S CEO Fernando Gonzalez. “It’s no wonder that our First in Service advisors are experiencing incredible demand for destinations ranging from Vancouver Island to the slopes of Whistler, as well as the renowned luxury rail and cruise options.”

“For us East Coasters, BC provides a nice change,” said F1S advisor Marisa Wise. “Also, an extended stay in Vancouver is great for pre- or post-Alaskan cruises or booking in conjunction with the Rocky Mountaineer train journey.”

The F1S survey also asked its advisors which “under the radar” destinations they are booking most across Canada. British Columbia and Quebec were tied for first place, with 18.2% of advisors recommending each. Destinations specifically recommended within each include:

• Nimmo Bay, BC – “Nimmo Bay offers a fantastic experience for the high-end traveler,” stated advisor Kim Silvertown. “It is a Canadian safari with a high touch point and exclusive.”

• Tofino, BC – “I recommend the Wickaninnish Inn. The views say it all,” said Wise. “It is remote and unique, and it provides a great way to turn off from the world and focus on yourself and travel companions.”

• Charlevoix, QC – “The new Club Med Charlevoix resort for families offers an easy and convenient getaway,” noted advisor Linda Montemarano. “It offers a fully all-inclusive stay with dining and activities, all in a very picturesque setting.”

• The Laurentians, QC – “It’s drivable, affordable, with lots to do, plus it’s multi-seasonal,” said advisor Waldo Wohl.
