Bermuda has announced updated COVID-19 protocols, offering new “safe and simple” travel guidelines designed to streamline the process for vaccinated travellers visiting the island, by land or sea. The measures go into effect on March 7.
The new guidelines will require all visitors to show proof of current vaccination status (defined as having received a second dose within six months, or three doses of the vaccine) and a negative COVID-19 test result (antigen or PCR tests are allowed) taken within two days of arriving on the island.
No further testing will be required upon arrival unless required for return to the country of origin, in which case Bermuda will automatically schedule and provide return testing to travellers.
Travellers also need to complete a Travellers Authorization form 24 to 48 hours prior to arrival in Bermuda.
“We welcome visitors from around the world with travel guidelines that ensure their safety as well as their convenience, and our updated protocols will make visiting Bermuda even easier,” said Charles H. Jeffers II, CEO of the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA), adding, “Our hotels and local businesses are open with the Bermudian hospitality for which we are known.”
Pink Sale
Coinciding with the new protocols, Bermuda’s ‘Pink Sale’ promotion, offering savings on participating accommodation of up to 50%, has been extended until Feb. 20.
“People are ready to travel, and Bermuda is eager to welcome them back,” says BTA Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Douglas Trueblood.
