ADM Aéroports de Montréal, Air Canada and Bombardier are joining forces to create a vaccination hub at YUL that will vaccinate more than 50,000 people in Quebec over the next three months.
In a partnership with the Biron Health Group Inc., the project will cater to members of the aviation community, neighbouring companies, and their immediate families in two facilities designated by the government of Québec.
The major mobilization effort is designed to help accelerate the pace of mass vaccination in Québec and also relieve pressure on the health system.
The three organizations will operate vaccination sites and provide medical and non-medical resources, plus all required contributions to ensure efficient logistics. The sites will be located at:
• YUL – Clinic on the departures level of the terminal building
• Bombardier hangar – 1200 Percival-Reid St., just off Côte-Vertu Boulevard West
Appointments are by reservation only starting in May.
“We have agreed to take on the significant logistical challenge of deploying the YUL vaccination hub in collaboration with our valued and dedicated partners in the airport community because we believe in the importance of this mass vaccination campaign as a step towards a ‘new normal,’” says Philippe Rainville, President and CEO of ADM Aéroports de Montréal. “This is a key factor in the safe resumption of travel and the entire industry is looking forward to it.”
Air Canada Executive VP Arielle Meloul-Wechsler added: “As one of the largest private sector employers in Québec, it goes without saying that we are actively participating with our partners in this large-scale vaccination operation in the workplace… Contributing to this collective effort by playing a key role will not only ensure the health and safety of our employees but will also contribute to the reopening of the economy and the recovery of our industry.”
