Victory Cruise Line has thrown in the towel for the entire 2020 cruise season in the Great Lakes and Alaska. But sister line American Queen Steamboat Co. is still optimistic about getting back into action on US rivers, although with a season that’s been shortened again.
In a year in which close to home travel seemed to offer hope for escapes from sheltering in place, there is still too much uncertainty about travel through Canadian waters and Victory has cancelled all planned itineraries for the remainder of the 2020..
Victory had already mothballed one of its two Great Lakes ships this year, but had hoped to begin sailing the Victory I in July. Now they’re looking to the 2021 season, which includes the debut of Ocean Victory in Alaska and new itineraries on the Great Lakes, Canadian Maritimes, New England and the Southeastern US.
