ARE AMERICANS PACKING?: ‘Move to Canada’ Google searches hit their highest peak

US Google searches for “how to move to Canada” skyrocketed as the votes were counted and Trump’s victory became apparent. “Work visa Canada” searches in the US have also surged as votes were revealed. Searches for “if Trump wins can I move to Canada” peaked for the first time in three months. And, “Canada work visa” searches are projected to skyrocket by 566% following Trump’s victory.

Mike Hunter, Founder of CasinosHunters says, “There has been a surge in the number of Americans searching online about moving to Canada, and recent political events appear to have been a major catalyst.

“Americans search ‘how to move to Canada’ an average of 9,400 times per month, and as the interest continues to increase Canadians could feel the impact.

“American searches for “pros of living in Canada’ have also surged for the first time in three months.

“In 2016, when Donald Trump was first elected US president, a surge in search traffic caused Canada’s immigration website to crash.

“The 2024 US presidential election holds significant implications for Canada due to economic, political, and cultural ties between the two nations.

“Particularly with immigration policies. As Donald Trump has declared victory, his pledge to tighten immigration policies could lead to more people seeking entry into Canada.

“Cross-border policies, including those impacting travel and tourism, will also see a change.

“Relocating to Canada is not easy, as it involves navigating immigration policies and job markets. However, the combination of political stability, and publicly funded healthcare makes Canada an attractive option for some Americans if either candidate, whether this be Harris or Trump, lost.

Quebec Premier François Legault is raising concerns about the prospect of a wave of migrants coming to the province following Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election.

Legault says he wants to be sure that Canada’s border and airports are well-protected, and he plans to follow up with the federal government every week about the number of new arrivals in Quebec.

Trump has promised to deport millions of undocumented immigrants from the United States as one of his top priorities.

Legault told a news conference yesterday morning in Quebec City that there are already too many immigrants in Quebec, and that the province has done its part in taking in asylum seekers.

Parti Québécois Leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon warned earlier in the morning that millions of people might consider moving north following Trump’s election.

He says Canada has one of the most porous and poorly managed borders in the western world, and that Legault and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have a disastrous record on immigration.
