ARAJET TO ADD PUNTA CANA OPTION FROM YYZ, YUL

Caribbean low-price airline Arajet is now selling routes connecting from Toronto and Montreal to Punta Cana, offering Canadian travellers a second destination and hub in the Dominican beyond the carrier’s Santo Domingo base. Service will begin Oct. 27 and onward connections to other destinations in the Caribbean and South and Central America will also be available.

Arajet CEO and Founder Victor Pacheco Mendez says the airline continues to strengthen its growth and expansion by making Punta Cana its second hub and connecting it with its robust network of destinations.

“At Arajet, we are committed to making the Dominican Republic the new air hub of the continent and very soon we will be adding other destinations that will fly from Punta Cana, such as Buenos Aires, Quito, Guayaquil, Bogota, Medellin and Cartagena with the most competitive prices in the market,” explained Pacheco Mendez.

In addition, Pacheco Mendez indicated that the base at Las Americas International Airport (LAIA), near Santo Domingo, will continue to operate as usual and that many destinations served by Arajet will be offered from both airports.

“Our goal is for all Arajet passengers to have as many options and destinations as possible. In Mexico or Colombia, for example, we will fly from both airports and maintain a daily bus connecting travellers by land to increase the number of possible connections,” added Pacheco Mendez.

Punta Cana Airport becomes Arajet’s third destination in the Dominican Republic. In addition to LAIA, the airline maintains regular flights at Cibao International Airport in Santiago de los Caballeros, and is exploring adding flights from Puerto Plata International Airport.

Prices for Punta Cana from Canada start at CDN$165 each way, including taxes.

Arajet is the first low-price airline in the Caribbean region. It began operations in September 2022 and flies new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
