SUMMER 2024: Transat to offer more Europe, sun from YYZ

Reflecting a “significant recovery” in air travel by Canadians – particularly to destinations South and to Europe, Air Transat has revealed its 2024 summer flight program from Toronto. In 2024, the airline is offering six more weekly flights to Europe and seven more weekly flights to the South.

At the peak of the season, the airline will offer 110 weekly direct flights, serving more than 25 destinations. Newly added direct flights to Lima in Peru will now be offered year-round.

The airline will also enhance its offerings to Europe by increasing the frequency of its flights to England, Croatia, Ireland, Italy, and Portugal throughout the season. The new flights will include daily service to Dublin and Manchester.

From Toronto, the airline will serve 15 European destinations with direct flights.

Following are destinations served: Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Dublin, Faro (Portugal), Glasgow, Lamezia (Italy), Lisbon, London, Manchester, Paris, Porto, Venice, and Zagreb.

South

Meanwhile, while continuing to reduce the seasonality of its operations in the South, Air Transat will increase the frequency of its flights from Toronto to some of its Southern destinations.

These include Cancun and Punta Cana, which will see two additional weekly flights each, for a total of 9 respectively, while Montego Bay gets an additional flight for a total of three.

Other destinations include Cayo Coco, Holguin, Lima, Puerto Plata, Samana, Santa Clara, and Varadero.

The airline will also add a Peru to its summer schedule, making the destination year-round.

“By adding key destinations, strengthening our frequency of flights to promising markets, expanding our presence in Europe and the South, and reducing the seasonality of our operations, we are well positioned to maximize our revenues and develop our market share in Ontario,” says Michèle Barre, Transat’s Chief Revenue Officer.
