Trevello Travel Group says its new focus on cruising is making waves – with increased sales and prestigious awards.
Trevello (formerly TPI) announced its plans to place an emphasis on growing its cruise business in December at a VIP industry event in Mississauga, including the re-positioning of Caroline Hay to lead the effort as general manager of the cruise division.
“We want you to know that we are both land and sea,” Hay declared at the event, while unveiling a comprehensive cruise strategy that would include agent training, seminars at sea, marketing campaigns, a newsletter, and building a cruise community.
So far in 2023, that agenda has proceeded full steam ahead.
In January, the host agency conducted the two-day ‘Get Ready for Wave’ training event, which brought together over 250 advisors and 20-plus cruise partners.
Additionally, Trevello launched weekly formatted cruise training sessions, drop-in virtual cruise chit-chats, and what has proved to be an active cruise-focused Facebook group designed to ensure continuous training and development – and to further strengthen relationships with its advisors and cruise partners.
Further agent support is available through a new Cruise Portal where advisors can access updated promotions, training materials, tips and tricks, marketing tools and other collateral material.
According to Hay, “Trevello’s dedicated Cruise department is the only one of its kind in the Canadian Host Agency space and we’re committed to keeping up with the latest industry trends and providing the best possible service to its advisors who sell (or want to sell) cruise vacations.”
And she says the endeavor has already yield positive results with the group registering increased sales well over year end 2019 sales figures with most of its cruise line partners.
Trevello copped Celebrity Cruises’ “Group Superstar Award” for 2022, heralding its efforts and dedication to selling cruises
“The Trevello team has used their years of experience and fresh new ideas to build their groups business and in turn have become a leader in the industry,” stated Celebrity Cruises National Director, Market Sales – Canada Allan Brooks in presenting the award. “Kudos to the entire team…”
