ACTA is inviting all travel agency owners and managers to take part in an industry survey detailing the soft benefits of being a travel agency employee. The data will be used as an integral part of the association’s strategy to lobby governments to invest in travel agencies by demonstrating that the travel sector offers strong employment opportunities.
Further, the results will of value to travel agencies as they try to attract new talent and review their compensation policies, says ACTA, which last compiled such data in 2014 and is looking to update it with members’ numbers from 2019 (pre-pandemic).
“As we navigate recovery and continue our advocacy efforts with governments in addressing labour challenges, it is critical that we have a fulsome picture of total compensation and benefits of travel agents across Canada,” explained ACTA president Wendy Paradis.
The association also notes that is actively engaged in a comprehensive study with multiple stakeholders on independent travel agent compensation, which includes host agencies and independent travel agents. This survey focuses on travel agencies and runs concurrently with ACTA’s other compensation studies.
