G WHIZ: Tour operator kicks off annual agent incentive

G Adventures largest incentive of the year is now underway. Through April 30, the “G-Normous” campaign thanks travel agent partners for their support and, this year in particular, “for being such heroes (during the pandemic).” Up for grabs are $75,000 worth of cash and prizes, including a $5,000 grand prize for the top seller, plus monthly chances to win a trip.

The ninth annual incentive program is paired with the tour operator’s “Great Adventure Sale,” which offers clients up to 25% off on more than 400 trips, and includes featured monthly partners, starting with Colombia in January.

David Green, managing director for G Adventures in Canada, says he hopes the new G-Normous incentive helps agents to inspire their customers to book at a still uncertain time, and shows them how much their knowledge and expertise is valued.

“Our partners are more important and valued than ever,” he says. “They have been working hard to help customers navigate the ever-changing protocols our current travel landscape presents. That’s why we have made this year’s G-Normous incentive the biggest yet, as a way to say ‘thank you’ for the dedication our unsung travel hero partners are showing daily for the industry we are all so passionate about.”

He adds, “January is traditionally a peak booking month for agents. While there is still lingering uncertainty, we are seeing bookings come in for short-term travel, so we encourage agents to focus on this market – people who are keen to get away as soon as they can and escape the winter months.”

Green observes that current booking window for Canadian clientele is about four months and notes that the tour operator’s ‘Book With Confidence’ policy allows travellers to cancel and rebook up to 14 days before departure.

With G-Normous, agents receive one entry for every client booked from Jan. 1 to April 30, 2022, regardless of their customer’s travel date. Agents also have access to an additional 20%-off promotion, available exclusively to them on a selection of tours.

This year, the promotion also includes new monthly Community Challenges, meant to be a fun and interactive way for agents to win additional cash and prizes each month by showing off their travel trivia knowledge, sharing stories, and nominating peers who have gone above and beyond in their roles this past year.

Monthly challenges, as well as G-Normous leaderboards and updates, will be posted on the G Adventures ‘Canadian Agents of Change’’ Facebook group over the course of the incentive program.
