Beth Fleeton has joined CAA Niagara as Associate Director of Travel Sales & Experience. The well-known Canadian travel industry veteran, most recently Senior Sales Manager for Universal Orlando Resort (UOR), brings more than 30 years of experience in travel to her new role, with a specialized knowledge in leisure vacations, FIT, travel sales, business development, marketing, and contracting.
For the past 13 years, during her tenure at UOR, Fleeton secured and maintained business relationships with various Canadian travel companies, including Air Canada Vacations, WestJet Vacations, Air Miles, and Expedia. Prior to that, she was a destination representative in the Dominican Republic and Mexico for over eight years, working for Canadian tour operators and local ground handlers. Upon her return to Canada, she worked with Thomas Cook Canada (now TravelBrands) as business development manager and national trainer, before joining Universal.
In her new role, she will lead all aspects of travel for CAA Niagara “and continue to grow on our dominant position in our local market,” says company president and CEO Peter Van Hezewyk.
“As a Niagara native, I look forward to bringing my knowledge of the region’s local tourism, in addition to my global expertise, to this role,” says Fleeton, adding, “Throughout the years in my previous roles, I oversaw the partnerships with both CAA Niagara and CAA clubs nationally, and I am thrilled to join some of my long-time peers in the office. The future of travel is bright, and I look forward to working with my new team to further grow CAA Niagara’s travel business.”
Beyond her career in travel, Fleeton has a strong interest in philanthropy. Currently an active member of the Rotary Club – St. Catharines Lakeshore, she sits on various committees for the club. In her spare time, she also enjoys planning annual blood drives and volunteering for her local charity, Food4Kids Niagara.
With CAA Niagara being a non-profit organization that prides itself on its community advocacy and philanthropic efforts, it’s a perfect match, says Fleeton.
Founded in 1911 as the St. Catharines Automobile Club with just 16 members, CAA Niagara has grown to over 137,000 members with offices in Grimsby, Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Thorold and Welland, Ont.
